What's the difference between a fragrance oil, extrait, and eau de parfum?
Our fragrance oils are undiluted or lightly diluted concentrates — the purest form of scent, designed to be applied directly to skin. Our extraits de parfum contain 20–40% fragrance concentration, making them the most intense spray format. An eau de parfum (EDP) typically contains 15–20% concentration and is slightly lighter in projection.
Are fragrance oils stronger than sprays?
Yes — fragrance oils tend to sit closer to the skin and last longer because they don't evaporate as quickly as alcohol-based sprays. They project more subtly but linger beautifully throughout the day.
Longevity & Projection
How long do your fragrances last on skin?
Fragrance oils typically last 6–12 hours on skin, sometimes longer depending on your skin type and body heat. Extraits can last 8–12+ hours. Dry or cold skin may absorb scent faster — moisturising beforehand helps extend longevity.
Why does my fragrance smell different on me than in the bottle?
Fragrance interacts with your unique skin chemistry, pH, and body temperature — this is completely normal and part of what makes each scent personal to you.
Application & Storage
How do I apply fragrance oil?
Apply a small amount to your pulse points — wrists, inner elbows, neck, and behind the ears. A little goes a long way. Avoid rubbing your wrists together as this can break down the top notes.
How should I store my fragrances?
Keep them in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Avoid storing in the bathroom, as humidity and temperature fluctuations can degrade the scent over time. A drawer or wardrobe shelf is ideal.
How long will a bottle last?
Most fragrances are stable for 3–5 years when stored correctly. Fragrance oils, especially those in dark glass bottles, tend to have excellent shelf life.
